Meet Donavon
Real Estate AgentDonavon has deep familial roots in residential real estate, new construction, and agricultural farm properties/acreage. His family has owned a real estate brokerage since 1956 with his grandfather, father, and sister all diligently serving their loyal clients as Real Estate Agents near his rural hometown of Buffalo, Minnesota. One of his older brothers has owned his own construction company for 25+ years, and at an early age of just 12, Donavon began working with him on construction sites. Growing up on a farm quickly taught him at a very young age that hard work pays off and you are responsible for yourself, your actions, always! The divergence of this background in real estate and residential housing has proven a sound foundation for him as he counsels clients about all facets of the not only the buying and selling process but also what to look out for in the infrastructure of a home, inside and out. Donavon has a degree in Communications and Psychology from St. John's University, which is consistently ranked as one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country.
Donavon gleefully "married-up" to Jennifer in 2010 and has two children named Breckan (2016) and Saige (2018), whom he loves all unequivocally. They currently reside in the Excelsior-Shorewood area in a 1900-year-old 1.5-story bungalow overlooking the alluring waters of Lake Minnetonka. In the summer months on sunny day,s they can be found all together boating from bay to bay or entertaining with friends and family scattered all around the Twin Cities metropolitan area. His wife has family in South Dakota so if they're not up here visiting, the DesMarais' are often taking extended weekend getaways to visit them in Sioux Falls and Yankton. Donavon most enjoys wake-surfing, golfing, curling, listening to music of the Lumineers + Lord Huron and relaxing with the solid company of friends and family. Favorite foods include chips and queso, his father-in-law's infamous BBQ ribs, and raspberry cheesecake, preferably from The Cheesecake Factory.
Donavon formally began his career in residential real estate in 2005 and since then has garnered the trust and loyalty of hundreds of happy clients. Anyone who has spent time around him instantly recognizes his innate passion and desire to help his clients navigate the often complex process of buying, selling, or investing in real estate. He truly loves his profession and enjoys the educational element of being the local real estate economist for his clients. People love to get behind and support someone with such drive, passion, and devotion to his craft!
